Dear Pine Lake Community,  

 
On March 28, Pine Lake is running a two-week “Home Goods” drive for our friends in Tukwila. We are calling it “House to Home.”  TO LEARN MORE, WATCH THIS VIDEO.

 
The Tukwila area is a hub for families seeking asylum. Recently, there has been an influx of families from Afghanistan. They expect more. Additionally, they expect refugees from Ukraine in the coming months. Many of the students attend, or will attend, our sister-school, Thorndyke Elementary. While the district is helping to establish appropriate housing for families, these houses are not equipped with basic home goods that any of us would need to thrive. This drive is about collecting and donating these home goods to help turn a house into a HOME. We are looking for: 

·         Dishes  

·         Utensils 

·         Mugs (Have a cabinet of random mugs? Donate some!) 

·         Kitchen Gadgets (can openers, spatulas, peelers, etc) 

·         Towels (dish and bathroom) 

·         Blankets/Bedding (Any extra sheets that aren’t used? Donate them!) 

·         Cleaning Supplies including laundry detergent

·         Toiletries 

·         Paper towels or napkins 

These items will be donated to the Tukwila Children’s Clothing Bank and Donation Center and then distributed to families in Tukwila schools.  

UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO SPACE LIMITATIONS, THEY CANNOT ACCEPT FURNITURE AT THIS TIME.
