“Men Making a Difference” Essay Contest
This program is a statewide essay contest that recognizes the important and different contributions that men make in the lives and education of children - from our children's perspective. All men involved in a child's life - fathers, uncles, grandpas, brothers, step-fathers, mentors, neighbors, pastors, coaches, and friends - impact the children they care about.

Postmark Deadline is March 1, 2017. Full details and application are found here: http://www.wastatepta.org/programs/PTA_mens/index.html

Influence the Choice Video Contest

The fifth annual Influence the Choice Video contest has begun, with a deadline of March 10! This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever, with TWO contests (one for high school students and the other for middle school students) running concurrently.

Students are asked to produce a video of no more than two minutes persuading their peers to resist the temptations of alcohol and other drugs. For high school students, cash prizes up to $1000 are available, and this year we’re offering more prizes than ever (many thanks to our generous community sponsors – Issaquah Rotary, Sammamish Rotary and Sammamish Kiwanis)! All winning students will be honored at an ITC Awards Ceremony in the spring.

Details and requirements for the contest, as well as application materials, can be found at www.influencethechoice.org. If you would like to volunteer to be a judge or help out in any other way, contact Pat Castillo via pat@isfdn.org
