Honk & Wave - www.visvote.org/honk-wave-sign-up/

Help us remind voters to send in their ballots during our Honk & Wave opportunities in support of the upcoming 2018 levy. We are looking for enthusiastic sign-wavers to help us. This is a great community service opportunity for students as well.  Sign up for any or all of the following dates/times and choose the location that works best for you or where your friends are waving.

Your help in this important outreach opportunity is appreciated! In order to reach all areas of our district, sign-up locations are organized by school area (North, South, Central). Hopefully you can find a location that is convenient for you.

Wave signs on high traffic corners on Wednesday, January 24th and Monday, February 12th: Morning 7:00am-8:30am / Evening 5-6:30pm.

Ideally we would like 6 or more volunteers at each location on each date and time. The more the merrier!

Please click here to be directed to our Sign Up Genius to sign up for a location near you:  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0f4da9a829aaf49-2018

 Advocacy Update

Ernesto Chavarin and Lori Riskin represented PLMS at the 2017 Legislative Assembly.  The Washington State PTA legislative platform is a two-year platform to mirror the Washington state legislative cycle. On the even-numbered years, the new platform is voted on by members at the legislative assembly in the fall. The top five issues become our short-term platform and consist of our priority issues when advocating throughout the year.  The top five issues are: 1) Social Emotional Learning 2) Amply Fund Basic Education 3) Closing the Opportunity Gap 4) Standards for Para-Educators 5) Breakfast After the Bell.  Please see https://www.wastatepta.org/focus-areas/advocacy/ for more information.

Interested in HONORING the PLMS Staff?
