In Memory of Principal Roy Adler
The Pine Lake PTSA remembers Roy Adler (1950-2015)

Mr. Adler was the Pine Lake MS Principal for 11 years, leaving in 2012. He was instrumental in building and carrying on Pine Lake's strong music program, often participating as a musician during school music assemblies. When 5th grade students took their middle school tours most came home declaring band, orchestra, or choir as their elective because of Mr. Adler and his enthusiastic pitch.

Mr. Adler loved the students at PLMS and was proud of the teaching, learning and integrity of his school community. Stories of Mr. Adler support this. He sometimes talked about when he'd retire, UNTIL he got to Pine Lake! He never talked about retiring again. When asked, he'd reply with, "Why would I ever retire and leave here? Pine Lake is my Shangri-La"

Mr. Adler's parting words to PLMS: “Pine Lake is a school I couldn’t just walk away from. Something life changing had to happen to facilitate that,” he wrote. “No educator could ask for more than to serve this community. It has been a privilege, not a job.”

Mr. Adler was an incredible PTSA partner. Thank you for all your care of our Pine Lake MS community. Those that knew you are better for the experience. You are remembered and missed!

Congratulations to Rennie Lin, moving onto State-level Reflections!
Congratulations to Rennie Lin, whose visual art piece is moving onto State-level Reflections!

Here is Rennie's interpretation of "The world would be a better place if..." in the artist's own words:

"Nowadays young people are spending too much time on their phones, instead of looking at nature, talking to their friends, or reading a good book. My art piece, "Come Back to Life" represents my idea that the world can be changed for the better if young people used their phones less, coming back to the meaningful life and make the world a better place."

Oh, and the next theme for 2015-16 is: "Let Your Imagination Fly"
